Jim Moriarty - Hiiiiii!
My very long confession/analysis of Jim pretty much similar to your’s except I decided to label him with a couple of psychiatric illnesses too.  What exactly is wrong with Mr Moriarty? I’ve always thought of him as evil but for the first time I look at Mr Moriarty from a medical perspective. Is he mentally ill? And if so, what does he have and how did he become this way? Reblog if you like...

Alright, I know that I have been largely absent for the past, well, long time, and also that I’ve been making more text posts than I usually do, but here is some final important information. I sort of changed this blog. Not in terms of appearance, but of content and focus. There will still be confessions, of course, and the psychological profiles are still relatively the same, but I have...

If you have not noticed already, I’ve reblogged and changed the source of nearly every edit on this blog that is not a confession. Those have all been relocated to my personal blog. I’ve decided to delete all posts on this blog that are off topic (not having to do with psychology, Sherlock, confessions, or this blog).

Apologies for my recent absence…I spent the last week in Tokyo, which I mentioned on my personal blog, but not on here. I may post some stuff later. Submissions would be really helpful…however, I usually don’t receive any, which is disappointing because I know that many of my followers are a lot more intelligent and insightful than I am (I know this because I have been on your...

theladyholmes asked: I love your blog! It's fascinating. I was just curious actually, as to how you decided that Sherlock was an INTJ? I always sort of pegged him as INTP, because he's notoriously impulsive, unreliable, and disorganized. I know it's really hard to type fictional characters, but I'm still interested in what your thought process for it was!

Stop calling Sherlock a sociopath! Thanks, a... →
Maria Konnikova - CriminalElement.com I’d like to get something off my chest. It’s been bugging me for a very, very long time. Sherlock Holmes is not a sociopath. He is not even a “high-functioning sociopath,” as the otherwise truly excellent BBC Sherlock has styled him (I take the words straight from Benedict Cumberbatch’s mouth). There. I’ve said it. Read...

I edited the psychological profiles again; this time I used both the Meyers-Briggs personality theory and the Enneagram personality typing system for the character’s personality type.

I had previously planned to make a few minor changes to my psychological profiles of the Sherlock characters; however, I suppose I was a bit overzealous, considering the fact that I ended up almost completely rewriting each of the profiles. So, er, enjoy rereading them…I suppose.

armydoctorpeterpotter asked: Wow, thank you for the follow!! <3 I guess I'll take this opportunity to say that as an English major with a love of psychology (my father's a psychologist, my mom's a physician) and BBC Sherlock, I admire and respect what you do so much. Everything I see here is spot on and brilliant. I wish I could think the way you do. You are an incredible inspiration! :] I'm so glad I...

thescienceofrebellion: dynamics-of-an-asteroid: This “Moriarty isn’t obsessed with Sherlock” thing will never fail to confuse me. Read More This was an absolutely brilliant character analysis, and I vehemently agree with all of it. Many of the points I found in this post I had mentioned in my psychological profiles for Jim Moriarty and Sherlock Holmes.  Also, when Series 3 of Sherlock...

thesignofslytherin asked: Hi! I just want to say I love your blog! :D I love the psychological aspect you take! I also wanted to ask a question, in reading your psychoanalysis of Sherlock and Moriarty I noticed you said that Sherlock is not a sociopath, yet Moriarty is; do you believe that sociopaths are born or grown? (sorry this is so random, I'm studing psychopathy and sociopathy- and it seems that maybe our views...
